POSITION SUMMARYElectroencephalographic (EEG) Tech I will perform EEG procedures according to facility policy and procedures.
The EEG Technologist I will maintain patient safety during clinically significant events, and other related duties.
Communication skills are essential for this position.
Once training is completed and all required institution competencies have been achieved, the EEG technologist I works under indirect technical supervision of the neurologist on call.
The employee will then work towards taking the registry exam within 5 years of hire.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Education High School Diploma and some college credits (20-30 in a healthcare field)Minimum Experience 6 months of direct patient care Required Registration/License/Certification BLS obtained within 30 days of Hire or TransferMust be EEG registered within 2 years of hire if hired into position after 8/5/2019.
Preferred Education Associates degree or higher or graduate of a neurodiagnostic programPreferred Experience 1 year experience in an neurodiagnostic lab or Neurologists office performing Neurodiagnostic testing.
