The position is responsible for leading cross-commodity teams in planning and execution of Purchasing project teams and activities to achieve outcomes (e.g. clean sheet cost). The position will be assigned to a specific product-line (Braking, Steering, Electronics or OSS) and will report to the Purchasing Director for the product-line. The role will also be indirectly accountable the VP of Global Purchasing and VP of Operations for the assigned product-line.
Collaborate with Cost Engineering to understand Value Capture (VC) opportunities and build and manage project plan to achieve VC.
Manage and work through cross-commodity teams in planning and execution of activities to ensure project scope and outcome is achieved (e.g. clean sheet cost). Monitor progress of projects through internal reviews, participation in team meetings and assist where needed to resolve impasses by resolving elevated issues. Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to - 1) Conduct pre-RFQ; 2) Manage RFQ process; 3) Manage subsequent sourcing processes; 4) Prepare commodity teams for supplier negotiations; 5) Participate in supplier negotiations; 6) Manage supplier implementation.
Coach and develop commodity team members in cost engineering methodologies to successfully execute activities. In addition, coach and develop team members toward transformation that results in methodologies becoming embedded in future work processes. Provide team members performance feedback, informally (1:1 sessions) and formally (via EPDP) and collaborate with managers of core team members to ensure appropriate development plans are implemented in response to feedback.
Drive relevant project and project status communications among stakeholders (Purchasing, Operations, Suppliers).
Education Requirements Bachelor Degree required. Prefer course of study to be Purchasing, Engineering or Finance.
Experience and Skill Requirements Must have knowledge of Purchasing processes, either through direct work experience in Purchasing or cross-functional work experience from Engineering, Program Management or other related area. Must have knowledge of products for assigned product-line. Must have experience or be immediately able to manage using cost modeling methodologies (clean sheet, LPP, etc.). Must demonstrate proficiency in understanding financial concepts as related to products. Must demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem-sovling using conceptual thinking. Must exhibit high levels of self-control, self-confidence and flexibility. Must be highly organized and able to effectively manage projects, including in environment of shifting priorities. Must have strong leadership competencies, including strong and clear communication; ability to effectively lead, coach and develop individuals; ability to develop and conduct training for variety of audiences. Must demonstrate ability to effectively manage in global environmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
