Demonstrates knowledge of all computer operation jobs & the interdependencies between jobs & applications. Identifies & analyzes both potential & actual hardware, software & system utility problems. Takes appropriate corrective actions as necessary. Maintains hardware, computer room & facility. Performs minor hardware maintenance. Contacts vendors when necessary to keep hardware operational. Ensures all reports are printed & distributed in an accurate, complete & timely manner. Maintains appropriate inventory levels on all consumables. Orders supplies when necessary. Identifies & implements preventative measures to minimize or eliminate operator errors, hardware failures & facility related problems. Ensures that all problems, issues & contacts are documented in the appropriate logs. Demonstrates strong ability to operate computer hardware, software & operating systems & strong knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) necessary to ensure systems availability/functionality.
Required
Qualifications:
High School diploma
One year of Computer Operations experience
Preferred
Qualifications:
College level or technical school training in Information Technology methods & procedures. Knowledge of any scheduler (helpdesk software), report distribution software & tape management tools.
Training in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office products, and a variety of computer platformsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
