_Position
Summary:_
Assures the consistent highest quality of Pharmavite products and assists with the flow of production. Ensure a smooth interface between different departments and outside vendors. Supervises and schedules the work of chemists and technicians, trains in methodology and laboratory techniques.

Responsibilities:_
Supervises, trains, and develops staff to enhance quality and quantity of employee work, ensure uniform methodology and laboratory techniques, and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Interfaces with Material Control, Manufacturing and Production Planning in order to assign chemists the raw materials or finished products and establish timely testing and release for production use.
Interfaces with Technical Operations to investigate product and material failure.
Generates, approves, and updates standard operating procedures and test methods to assure the correctness and reproducibility of test results.
Maintains proper record keeping, calibration, and repair of analytical instruments and laboratory supplies to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Investigates questionable test results and product quality by investigating documentation and testing/trends and/or by contacting vendors for data regarding vendor/product evaluation and approval in order to assess corrective action.
Conducts GMP and safety audits to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain training records and documentations.
Assign, monitor and review test results data for stability samples to ensure complete and up-to-date testing.
Review, update and approve MBR and Product Specifications.
Conduct quarterly and yearly reviews for direct reports.
Compiles daily reports on test performed in Quality Control lab on current finished products, raw materials, stability and special samples.
Researches and recommends equipment necessary to perform required testing.
Review, approve and release/reject raw materials, finished products and special samples limits.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
_Minimum
Qualifications:_
Education:
Requires a four year college or university degree or its equivalent in Chemistry, Pharmacy or a related science. Advanced degree preferred.
Certification:
None.
Experience: Requires three to five years experience in a Pharmaceutical or related industrial laboratory.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Requires:
Competent knowledge and skills in instrumentation, such as HPLC, GC, ICP, NIR, FTIR, spectrophotometer, dissolution apparatus, microbiological testing, wet chemistry, lab safety, chemical hygiene, toxic waste disposal, GLPs and cGMPs.
Requires computer literacy.
Good organizational and communication skills.
